MARIE STENZEL passed away on Oct. 24, 2011 surounded by her husband and children. She left behind many relatives and friends who loved her as she loved them. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Erwin and children: sons: Thomas & James and daughter: Cynthia. A sister Shirley and two brothers: Joseph and Robert. She was born over a month prematurely to Mary & Joseph McKillop on April 22, 1928 in Milwaukee. She weighed only 2lbs 5ounces and was given last rites, but two loving parents would not give up and continued to love and pray while they nursed her back to health, she grew to be a lovely, energetic grown-up girl who grew to 5 feet tall and 100 pounds. In 1947 she married Erwin in West Allis and they were loving companions for over 64 years. He was holding her hands when she died and will always love and cherish her forever. In 1959 she and her family moved to Shawano until 1975 when they moved to Sister Bay where they operated a small resort, returning to Shawano in 1984. From 1975 until the 2000s they would spend winters in the warmer states and also traveled extensively in Europe, Alaska, Mexico and Canada as well as thru the United States. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a member of many clubs and worthy organizations. She will be sadly missed and loved by all. Godspeed Marie to the loving arms of the Lord. Funeral services: Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at 11:00AM at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano with Pastor Ronald Raddatz, officiating. Interment at the Friendship Cemetery in the town of Belle Plaine.
